Pyramids of Dead Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
Rich Wilde and Cat Wilde (his daughter) are two major characters that we’ve seen used at the center of many slot machines from Play n GO. Cat Wilde and the Pyramids of Dead is the latest game we’re seeing from them, and of course we’re getting another Book-style release. Quite a few slots from this series have used this sort of mechanic, but each one with its own differences, pros and cons.
While the Ancient Egypt theme doesn’t surprise in this case, I think you will appreciate the design’s quality, at least by comparison with the typical Book slot.
While the Pyramid is the most important feature symbol that’s used in this case, you will also discover regulars showing us Cat Wilde, Pharaoh, Anubis, Scarab, and the 10 to A Egyptian-style Royals.
Play n GO is a company that’s been around the block for a long time, and they’re offering an impressive number of slot machines. The Cat Wilde series also includes titles like Doom of Dead, Eclipse of the Sun God, and Lost Chapter. If you’re a fan of Book-style slots with something extra, definitely give them a chance.
How To Play It
To pick a level for the bet, you have two options. You can modify the coin value ($0.01 to $2), along with the number of coins per line (1-5). A bet of up to $100 can be selected, but there are also options as low as $0.10.
A lot of Book slots will have the same setup as Pyramids of Dead. 5×3 reels will spin, but they get only 10 active paylines on them. Nonetheless, these slots can be quite powerful.
As this is a Book slot machine, it comes with a symbol that’s acting both as a wild and a scatter. The Pyramid is that symbol, and you may use it either to form regular combinations with it acting as a substitute, or you can get it to pay up to 10,000x directly.
Whenever 3+ Pyramids are visible, you’re getting a random feature or an instant prize.
Instant Prize: it will be worth up to 500x the stake, and you get it immediately.
Prize Round: depending on the number of triggering Pyramids, you get a Prize Round with the top 2, top 3, or top 4 fixed prizes. The top one is worth 1,000x the stake, the next one is 250x, then 100x, and 20x for the smallest. You need to get 3 spirits of the same type, to claim a jackpot.
Free Spins with Expanding Symbols: this is the standard Book-style feature, with special expanding symbols selected at the start. To get more special symbols, you need to retrigger the free spins. At most, you could do this 9 times, and end up with all 9 symbols capable of expand.
While a standard Book-style slot machine offers up to 5,000x the stake, Pyramids of Dead does better, and takes it up to 10,000x the stake. The Cat Wilde symbol pays 1,000x the stake per line, so that’s the symbol you want to become special, and then have it show up on all reels.
I appreciated the medium volatility rating of the slot, but you still need to make sure that the RTP is at a good level (the range goes up to 96.20%).
Cat Wilde and the Pyramids of Dead is a slot machine worthy of consideration, especially so if you love Book style games already. It adds some additional ways to get a good prize, but it also makes it more difficult to trigger the free spins (the scatters could give you an instant prize instead).
