Pied Piper Online Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
Quickspin’s Pied Piper is inspired by one of the legends that we all grew up with. The story is based on a story that goes back hundreds of years, to the Middle Ages, when the Pied Piper of Hamelin was a rat catcher that was hired by a German town, to lead the rats away with help from his magic flute.
The story doesn’t have quite the happy ending that you’d expect, with the rat catcher abducting the town’s children because he wasn’t paid for his services. The slot machine gets a much happier looking theme, with images involving not just the Pied Piper, but also the town’s rats, the king, queen and even a princess.
On top of that, symbols also have money bags, a key and an image of the town as well. They ended up relying on playing cards for the last several symbols, which pay less.
With about three dozen slots that are on the market right now, Quickspin can’t really be called a big developer, but if you look at the games that they’re releasing, I think that you will agree that the quality is there in every single one of them.
It’s a developer that I’ve learned to respect in recent years, originating from Sweden, and I think that you should definitely give their slots a chance.
How To Play It
The number of the lines which are active doesn’t correspond directly with the wager that can be placed. You have 40 lines that are activated, but wagers will start from $0.20. Their maximum value will reach $100.
In other areas, Pied Piper is a standard game, albeit one with 4 symbols for each of 5 reels. 40 active lines are fixed on the screen. The standard Quickspin interface was chosen here as well, colored in orange and having the same look in every game of theirs that I’ve tried so far.
Several features were implemented in this game, to make it interesting, and I’d say that it all starts with the Piper Wild. Usually a stacked wild symbol, 4×1 symbols high, it will sometimes occupy the entire reel it shows up on.
At that point, the Piper Respins are triggered and the Pied Piper starts moving towards the left side, one position during each respin that follows. The mice wilds are also going to move, at the same speed as the Pied Piper.
With a bit of luck, you might get a Mystery Re-trigger to occur, at the end of the feature. The Piper can enter back on the reels, from the right side, and it will start moving again for the next five respins.
The Town Bonus symbols are the ones that will initiate the free spins feature for you. Have three visible on the reels, to win 10 free spins that have up to 6 guaranteed Mouse Wilds in random locations. A random feature can occur here, where the Mystery Respin can be triggered at the end of a free spin.
As for the Piper Wild, the stacked symbol can only land on the last three reels and it’s usable as a replacement for most symbols, with the Bonus Scatter’s exception.
Regular-sized Mouse Wilds are used inside, as substitutes, but they are also capable of forming combinations which pay up to $2,000.
Thanks to the rewards that it can deliver in the long run, Pied Piper is a good slot to play. Don’t expect it to pay big through a single combo though, as the most it will offer is $2,000.
Pied Piper is an impressive new release from Quickspin, which did alright by the theme and crafted a gorgeous slot machine that is based on a popular fairytale.
