One of NetEnt’s releases, a new game using a very old theme, Mercy of the Gods is inspired by Ancient Egypt and the artifacts left behind by this civilization. We’re not getting a new story, obviously, as the same type of symbols have been part of a lot of other slots. Even though the theme is a common one, I appreciated that the design quality is higher than usual, thanks to NetEnt’s efforts.

Feature symbols will give you the Wild Lotus Flower, both in regular and expanded form, plus the Eye of Ra as the scatter and a gold coin as a bonus game trigger.

How To Play It

For NetEnt, the betting system feels typical. There are 20 lines, up to 10 coins which may be used for each one, while the coin denomination will get up to $0.50. This allows for bets of $0.20 to $100, using up to 200 coins per spin.

Special Features

One of three feature symbols which are introduced with Mercy of the Gods, the wild symbol will typically show two lotus flowers, in the way that the Egyptians used to draw them. You get to use these symbols as replacements, same as in every other slot.

Gift of Double Wilds can trigger during re-spins, if a wild appears behind another such symbol. They expand and cover the reel, now taking the form of an Ankh with the two lotus flowers at the top.

With above average payouts, a progressive jackpot and interesting graphics, the only remaining downside for Mercy of the Gods remains its Ancient Egypt theme.
