The inclusion of the forge in the design of the game is the new part. Having gemstones on the reels is far from original for a slot machine though. You will find 5 reels encased in the forge, with a bit of the fire inside barely visible at the top and to the sides. How To Play It

The main game area has 5×3 reels, and through it you can form combinations on 243 ways to win/lines. The horizontal Forge reel from the top will bring various modifiers into play, including the option to add more symbols (through symbol splitting mechanic), and this could lead to as many as 36,288 ways to win becoming available.

Special Features

First of all, you’re forming winning combinations with the symbols shown at the bottom, on 5×3 reels. If that happens, winning symbols will be removed from the game area. The symbols from the Forge reel drop down, and become part of the main game area, which allows them to become active (they do nothing while they’re on that reel). There are about six special symbols and modifiers that can appear there:

• Blue vertical arrows, to transform regular symbols into wilds on that reel.

• Blue horizontal arrows, to transform regular symbols from its row into extra wilds.

• Pink vertical arrows, which split the matching symbols from that reel (you get 2 symbols instead of 1 from each position).

• Pink horizontal arrows, used as a wild and also splits other symbols from the same row.

• Golden + sign, which adds to the multiplier by 1x.

• Blank position, which is just removed when it cascades down.

With 3+ scatter symbols making their way to the game area, you will be able to access the Gembox. It spins, and reveals a prize or access to free spins. Up to 20 free spins trigger, depending on how many symbols got you the feature in the first place.

The free spins have a couple of advantages as well. For one, their multiplier increases all the time, it never goes down. Second, the Forge Reel doesn’t have any blanks on it.

I think you will agree, that the 20,000x jackpot of Forge of Gems is more than adequate. Highly volatile, the slot can have a very good RTP, of 96.20%, but that’s just the top of the range (some operators may choose lower RTP settings, so watch out for that).

Summary

Forge of Gems looks like a pretty good fourth title in the series, with the PayWays system being fun and quite powerful, particularly if we look at the top jackpot that’s possible inside.
