Buffalo Toro Slot Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
There is an entire series of slot machines that has Toro as its main character, but ELK Studios decided to mix and match for this particular release. We’re seeing a game with a North American wildlife angle for the most part, where the buffalo is the main attraction. They added the Spanish bull, Toro, along with the matador, but otherwise I’d say it’s more of a buffalo slot than anything else.
Buffalo Toro has two feature symbols that are borrowed from the Toro series. The Matador and Toro appear there. The rest are regulars, showing the top-paying Buffalo, plus the Eagle, Mountain Lion, Wolf, Bear, along with six Royals (9 to A).
ELK Studios is a respected developer, with a long list of slot machines of the highest quality in its collection. You will find several Toro themed slots among those, along with a lot of other stories being told in the rest of their releases. A few other recent games from them are Coba, Phoenix Graveyard, and Cygnus 2.
How To Play It
You will find that its betting range is between $0.20 and $50. It’s typically used with 100 coins, the standard system in place in Elk Studios slots.
The game area is fairly large, using 6 reels and 4 symbols for each one. This allows for 4,096 ways to win, which means that you need matching symbols appearing left to right, anywhere on 3+ adjacent columns.
There will be two types of wilds that help out when you’re forming new combinations. One is the regular version, which is available only as a substitute. The other one also applies a multiplier, boosting wins by 2x or 3x, provided that it’s involved in that win. The game adds up multipliers, if there are several involved.
Toro himself appears as one of the symbols, and you’re going to notice that it acts as a Walking Wild. It triggers a respin feature, which continues for as long as Toro is still present. The wild moves to the left by one position during each respin.
If you get the Matador on the reels at the same time as Toro, then the feature triggered is Toro Goes Wild. Toro goes to the Matador then, and it transforms the symbols between them into extra wilds.
You may also get access to up to 20 free spins, but for this to happen you will first need scatters landing in 3 to 6 positions. The feature retriggers with as few as 2 scatters, giving you 4 to 20 more rounds.
During these free spins, you’re going to collect the Golden Buffalo if it appears, and eventually you will upgrade the premium symbols to the one with the highest value. You need 3 Golden Buffalo to upgrade each symbol.
A Super version of the free spins is possible, if a super scatter was present in the triggering round. It uses something called Rampage Reels (1 or more present each round), which are taken over by top symbols.
Buffalo Toro is capable of great things, and I think that you’re going to love the 50,000x jackpot which is advertised in its case. The payouts are very high, but so is the volatility, and I’m not a big fan of the 94% RTP that ELK Studios has been using lately.
Buffalo Toro is a typical release for ELK Studios, particularly because it has the usual mix of exciting features that they got us used to. The design and its North American angle don’t feel as impressive, and the 94% RTP is downright disappointing.
