Wild Catch Online Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
It’s hinted at in the game’s name, the fact that Wild Catch has a fishing themed design. It’s not the first game with this name from Microgaming, but the two don’t seem to be connected in any real way. You’re getting a big game area in this one, with 5 reels of 5 symbols each present, on which you will discover a variety of themed symbols.
The lack of Royals or other boring unrelated symbols is definitely a plus for me, especially as the overall quality of the design is also quite high. If you’re the type to enjoy a nice day catching fish from a river mountain, then this fly fishing inspired game is for you.
As symbols, we find some of the bait, artificial flies and reels that would be used, along with images of various people fishing or showing off their captures. Overall, quite an enjoyable game, for a player that likes to unwind in the middle of nature.
Microgaming is the name that many will see this game associated with, and it’s an exclusive title for their collection, but the actual developer that’s worked on it is called Stormcraft Studios. They’re working on exclusive slots for Microgaming, and so far they’ve provided us with a couple of decent titles, most of them sequels for older games, including here Agent Jane Blonde Returns.
How To Play It
Selecting a bet, that’s all it takes to get started with a game of Wild Catch. The minimum bet allowed is $0.20, while the maximum one is $20.
The game area might be bigger than average, with its 5×5 reels, but it offers regular paylines to form wins on, 50 of them active each round. You will need the usual 3 or more symbols of the same type, arranged left to right, in order to get paid.
Rolling Reels are incorporated into Wild Catch, and they are going to be used to bring new waves of symbols to the reels, these replacing any winning symbols that you had initially. For as long as new combinations form, these Rolls keep triggering.
The game’s own logo serves as a substitute, so getting it can mean one or more new winning combinations formed, provided that it lands where you need it.
Splashing Wilds are randomly triggered events, which will take a regular wild symbol and make it stacked, which is possible on one of the middle reels. It turns that wild into a sticky symbol, which is available during the Rolling Reels as well, it only gets removed once the round ends.
With scatters also present in the game, the fact that the free spins are available shouldn’t come as a surprise. You get three types of free spins, called Crystal Lake (15 spins and up to 10x multipliers), Emerald Creek (10 spins with up to 15x multipliers) and Golden Rapids (5 spins and up to 25x multipliers). In order to get the latter variants, you first need to trigger the free spins a certain number of times (5 times for the second variant, 10 times for the third).
There is one more feature that is offered during free spins, Wild Stacks which go up in size and get collected, improving the odds of triggering a fixed jackpot of up to 2,000x.
The potential is high in this one, but its 9,000x limits can only be reached once you get the free spins triggered a number of times, so that you can get access to its more volatile variants. RTP is fine, at 96.30%, while volatility is high.
It’s a slot with very good payouts and fun features, which rewards loyalty and playing it in the long run. I’m fine with this, as it gives the player a reason to stick around, in a slot machine that looks good on most fronts.
