Neptune’s Harem Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
Neptune’s Harem is an interesting name for a slot machine. Neptune was the god of the sea in Roman mythology. The harem in question appears to refer to a group of four beautiful mermaids, which are used as the slot’s premium symbols. The lesser symbols are the ones showing shells, stars and a couple of pearls. Among the feature triggers, we find icons with Neptune (scatter) and his Trident (wild).
It’s an excellent design overall, I really enjoyed the graphics of this one, and I’m not saying that just because of the pretty women showing up in many of its symbols.
As expected, since this is a Microgaming exclusive, the slot machine was actually designed by a different company, a partner of theirs. Gong Gaming Technologies created the game, and they did an excellent job. A few other examples of slots that this partnership has brought us, include Pirate’s Quest, Skulls Heap, and Maya U Max.
How To Play It
Neptune’s Harem will spin its reels in exchange for a $0.20 bet, which is the minimum required. At the other end, the wagers could be as high as $25, with the same 20 lines active.
5×3 reels will host 20 active win lines in Neptune’s Harem. You get paid if you manage to land 3 to 5 matching symbols on the same line, and adjacent, going left to right. It’s the standard way of forming winning combinations in slots with regular lines.
For starters, we have the Trident Wild, a symbol that has two roles in this game. It will create combinations by itself, just like any other regular symbol, but it also has the role of a wild. By itself, it pays up to 500x the stake per line, and a screen full of wilds will get you the slot’s top jackpot (10,000x). Together with other regular symbols, it acts as a replacement, and it helps them form their own combinations. It pays less, but it is more likely to happen than five wilds lining up on the same line.
Neptune acts as a scatter that will get you paid, anywhere from 125x to 1,000x, when 3 to 5 such symbols are visible at the same time.
There is a Bonus symbol as well, which you can get on reels 1 and 5. The image of the Door is used for it, and it’s a fitting option, as it gets you inside the slot’s main feature when both symbols are present.
The picks that follow allow you to get 5 to 12 free spins, while win multipliers range from 2x to 10x.
Once the feature gets going, it will give you 1 extra spin for each new Bonus symbol landing after that.
Besides the free spins feature and the wild, there is also a Royal League bonus, but you can get this one only at random. When triggered, it takes you to a new screen, with 49 tiles. You use the dice, to decide your direction on the board, and you go through it until you find the Collect message. Each tile color has a different prize to give.
As far as the maximum payout is concerned, it’s not a bad one. 10,000x the stake is the most that the slot will pay, and that’s pretty good in a slot machine with only medium volatility. RTP-wise, the slot can do very well if it’s at 96.90%, but there are lower RTP settings that operators can also choose from.
Neptune’s Harem is a good game, and a nice addition to Microgaming’s collection. It can pay well, it can have a high RTP, but I’m afraid that its best setting is high enough that most operators will avoid it.
