Traveling through time is not a common theme for a slot machine, and yet it holds so much promise, that I’m surprised we haven’t seen more releases that use it. You get a variety of time periods and situations on its reels, from ancient gladiator fights in the Coliseum, to Wild West gun fights, or images of humans on the Moon. In addition to those premium symbols, there are also the 9 to A Royals, which also get different objects next to them (dinosaurs, steam trains, pyramids, hover cars, long boats, ancient temples).

Overall, a good design and a great theme, but the images feel a bit too crowded. That’s not a huge issue though.

The company that releases 10x Rewind might be Yggdrasil Gaming, but the developer of the slot is called 4ThePlayer. Their partnership has been the source for a number of great releases over the years. You will find it easy to spot 4ThePlayer titles by the fact that they all incorporate a number, at the beginning (90k Yeti, 12 Trojan Mysteries, 3 Secret Cities, etc).

How To Play It

Two buttons, with a minus and a plus sign, are at the bottom and top of the Spin button. Use them to take the wager from a $0.10 minimum, to a $20 maximum.

You’re going to play this one on 6×4 reels, with a lot of symbols in use, but with 4096 ways to win as well. As long as you can get matching symbols on 3 or more reels, left to right, you will get a win.

Special Features

The Time Traveler is your wild symbol, which you get to use as a regular substitute. It can help with new winning combinations, but not with triggering the free spins.

What you really want from this game, is to get access to its Rewind Time Win Spins. First, you’re going to need 3 scatter symbols in view, the ones showing the Win Spins logo and an atom. A small picking feature follows, and your choice will determine if you get 5, 7, or 10 Win Spins.

This awesome feature will simply take you back in time, to your past 5 to 10 winning rounds. If there are no wins in those rounds, some will be made up. Several modifiers will be applied, if you had scatters in those previous rounds. This can add to the cash prizes up to 10x the stake, but they can also give you up to 5 more Win Spins, or boost multipliers by up to 3x.

As you can see, it’s not a huge list of special features, but it’s definitely unique to this game, and quite interesting.

Maximum Payouts

A game where you can go back in time, 10x Rewind holds great potential, and allows the player to collect impressive top prizes. The cap appears to be placed at 20,000x the stake, which is very good even for a modern release.

The downside in a game with big rewards, is that there is high volatility as well. It’s not going to be easy claiming big wins, but it’s possible, and the RTP is at a very healthy 96.47%.

Summary

Overall, I think that you’re going to appreciate the Rewind feature that 4ThePlayer and Yggdrasil are giving us in this new release. I loved the innovation, and the fact that they came up with something original. You might get something similar in other games, but the idea to tie it all in with the time traveling theme works great.
