Here for a total bet of $1 all low paying card symbols are replaced by higher paying gem symbols. Also each level activated in this feature activates a corresponding Big Gem symbol. They have a payout from 10 to 50 x total bet from the first to the last level and this win is awarded only if the symbol lands to cover the full 3 central reels. This makes the game play interesting with often medium wins.
What We love
It’s always great to see when the game designers work hard to create a video slot game that is out of the standard industry pattern. Giant Gems has a unique design which is attractive and interesting so you won’t get bored after playing for a long time. The background music is fast and corresponds to the overall fast game play.
The Fortunate Spins feature is a great addition and even though it’s not a standard bonus feature it can still award decent wins. The pay table is pretty good and the 4 highest paying symbols award 500, 100 and 40 x bet wins for 5 of a kind combinations.

What we Do not Like
We like pretty much everything there is in this game, but we still feel that a classic bonus round is needed. This way the payouts are small to medium and getting 5 of a kind combinations of the two highest paying symbols and wins of over 100 x bet seem very hard to trigger.
Also the 50 x bet maximum payout for the Giant Gems symbols seems too low and it would be much better if that value was at least 100 x bet.
Worth Playing?
When you go through all the game rules, feature and the pay table you will see that Giant Gems doesn’t have the potential for some massive winnings. The maximum 500 x bet win is very hard to get and you can’t really increase your balance a lot in one spin.
This is a game where you have to play for a long time and always with the Fortunate Spin on maximum in order to be able to increase your balance. This can happen only gradually so a lot of patience is needed. We can only recommend that you try it for real and decide if you will like it or not.
