Magical Reels introduces us to a wizard’s study room, a place where you see a lot of potions and ingredients, along with stone floors covered by a large blood-drawn pentagram. A big part of the screen is taken over by the reels, while another chunk is going to the symbol meters on the left side. It’s well-enough designed, but there isn’t enough variety and excitement coming from the symbol selection, they’re fairly repetitive.

How To Play It

Using a bet that’s worth between $0.20 and $20, the player gets access to all lines used inside.

Magical Reels offers 5×4 reels, and there are 20 active lines used for that area. The game area is larger than it needed to be, but it’s not unheard of. You get paid whenever 3-5 matching symbols arrange themselves on a line, starting from the leftmost reel.

Special Features

One of the important features that are present here, is the Star Meter, which is available for every single regular symbol. To add to that meter, you need to get Book symbols scattered on the reels. Up to 5 are available in a single spin, so one per reel.

From these Book scatters, the game gets a boost to the multiplier and up to 3 stars. These are going to a random Star Meter, associated with one of the symbols. Fill up the meter of one of these symbols, with 5 stars, and you will get 5 free spins in exchange.

For one, these free spins don’t have the triggering symbol on the reels, so it’s easier to form one of the other combinations. There are additional scatters present on each column, so you can keep adding Stars to the meters that remain active. If you manage to fill up new meters, you get 2 additional free spins each time, and then that particular symbol also gets removed.

As I mentioned above, a multiplier is also associated with these symbols. You get to use whatever multipliers you accumulated during regular spins, for the wins formed with those symbols in the free spins mode.

There aren’t a lot of features in this game, as you can see. However, the free spins are easy to get, and they’re obtained in about 1 out of every 49 spins, on average. Most slots tend to make this possible in 1 out of 100-150 spins.

Maximum Payouts

Magical Reels is able to pay quite well, and a top prize of 11,750x the stake is the ultimate target in this case. This is only possible because this slot also has volatility set to high. Triggering the free spins, and getting multipliers as high as possible, would be the way to claim those payouts.

Summary

Magical Reels is able to deliver more than adequate rewards once its free spins trigger. It’s also fairly easy to get the slot’s only feature, at least compared with what others are doing.
