Genies Touch Slot Review
Genies Touch is a slot themed around the ancient Genie. It has an Arabic background, with golden dome buildings overlooking the lush garden of the sultan’s palace. Genies are from Islamic mythology and theology, so it is expected that a Genie themed slot would have an Arabic twist.
Quickspin are a Swedish slot developer. They are a new company on the scene, trying to make up ground on some of the big boys. They have been pumping out titles and Genies Touch is just one of the many they are releasing in early 2016.
Quickspin have a Net Entertainment, influence lots of their staff left Net Entertainment to work for the smaller company. Most notably their CEO, Daniel Lindberg, spent five years as the Sales Director at Net Entertainment. The Net Ent influence is evident in previous titles. They have exceptional graphics, but are proving themselves more than just a smaller, less experience, Net Ent. All their games have an original idea or two.
Genies Touch is a five reel slot. The game has not been released, so much of this is speculation based on promotional material made available from Quickspin. It looks like a nice slot. There is a lot of gold hinting at the wealth contained within the reels. The high value symbol have pictures and the low value symbols and numbers and letters.
There is a definite Disney influence in this one. All the picture symbols, bear a striking resemblance to Aladdin. This is based on a rumor, but several sources are saying that the Genie is the female symbol. The lower value symbols are gems. The panel is located at the bottom of the screen.
It is an orange and white panel that Quickspin has used before in other games. It does not look very good, as the colours do not match the rest of the slot. Quickspin needs to stop doing using this panel. Why go to all the effort to theme and design a slot, just to put a generic panel on the interface. The panel is easy enough to use, it is just a poor design choice.
How to play
The player gets the reels spinning by pressing the Spin Button. It is located on the panel. There are 20 paylines. If the player would like more information about bets and symbol value, or to see the pay table, these menus are brought up with the Info and Options Buttons, on the far left of the panel.
Not much is known about potential betting ranges. Quickspin games normally allow the player to adjust the coin value and the amount of betting lines is fixed. The use of the same panel suggests that this will be the case in this one.
The Magic Lamp symbol triggers the Genies Touch feature. If the symbol lands anywhere on the reels, then the Genie will leave the lamp, in what is hopefully a brilliant animation, and spin the adjacent reels, until the match. This will create winning paylines for the player.
There is still not too much reliable information as to exactly how this will work, but it is still a novel feature. Genies Touch has a Free Spins Game. It is triggered by landing 3 scatter symbols, anywhere on the reels. There will be more lamps, In the Free Spins Game, than in the Base Game, but that is all Quickspin will let on.
Genies Touch, has a mythical Arabic theme. It is a good looking slot with an original Genies Touch feature. The game has a Free Spins Game, to break up base gameplay. Quickspin have released some quality titles of late, and Genies Touch seems like it will grant a wish or three.
