Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle Slot Machine – Free Play & Review
It looks like Thunderkick is preparing to launch an entire series under the Crystal Quest brand, and they’ve started with Deep Jungle. The series name does give away a certain connection to crystals, and that’s what we’re seeing inside. The treasures that you’re looking for, as you’re going through the jungle, will involve quite a few valuable crystals.
As it’s a quest for precious crystals, most of its symbols are going to involve them. They come in smaller and larger variants, with one or more grouped up, colored in green, pink, blue or teal. A few of the symbols shown are different, including here both a monkey with a golden headband, and a snake holding a scepter with a pink gemstone in it.
A relatively small company, Thunderkick was founded in 2012, and they’ve gained a good reputation over the years. They have excellent slots in their collection, among which I’d recommend Esqueleto Explosive (1 and 2), the four slots from Beat the Beast, and I enjoyed Pink Elephants as well.
How To Play It
Look in the bottom right corner. The casino chip marked with the number 1 is going to lead you to the betting menu. There, you will find a list of bet values, which goes from $0.10 to $100.
Its game area is increasingly common these days, with 6×4 reels delivering 4096 ways to win. It still has the potential of being exciting, as it removes the need of matching symbols being on fixed lines, in order for you to get paid. You just need them appearing on 3+ adjacent reels, with the first one being on reel 1.
It’s not particularly difficult forming a combo in a game with ways to win, but Deep Jungle does even better, and adds Avalanches as well. These are going to trigger whenever you form a combo, and they remove winning symbols from the reels, once they got you paid. A new wave of symbols lands, in the empty positions, and this can lead to more wins (and more Avalanches as well).
What’s great about these Avalanches, is that they also have increasing multipliers, going up by 1x each time that the feature triggers. It resets between paid spins though.
Randomly triggered and placed mystery symbols can show up, and then all of them will turn into one type of regular symbol.
12 to 18 free spins can trigger, but only if you get the needed 3 to 6 scatters first. To retrigger the free spins, 2+ additional scatters need to appear after that, for 3 to 11 more rounds.
The differences introduced for the free spins include the multiplier of the Avalanches, which doesn’t reset between rounds now. It only goes up, as you progress through the feature and get new wins.
Another cool option is that of the Exploding Wild. This occurs for losing spins, if there are wilds visible. The explosion will remove symbols from the game area, and will trigger an avalanche and a boost of the multiplier.
Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle can be a highly rewarding game, and Thunderkick mentions that it allows for wins of up to 15,000x the stake inside. That’s big enough to make a difference for everyone, provided that luck is on their side. Volatility is considered High, while RTP is calculated to be 96.14%.
Crystal Quest: Deep Jungle looks like a promising first game in a new series, with decent graphics (a few too many crystals for my taste though), exciting multipliers and big potential.
