We’ve seen a lot of Christmas themed slot machines over the years, but most of them tend to feature the same traditional image of the holiday, using Santa Claus as its main character. Microgaming and Aurum Signature Studios chose Mrs Claus in that role here, so she’s going to make an appearance on the reels. How To Play It

With up to 5 coins used on each line, and coin denominations that reach $0.50, Book of Mrs Claus lets you spend anywhere from $0.10 to $25 on each spin.

What you get in exchange, is a simple game area. 5×3 reels and 10 lines, pretty much the standard for a Book-style slot machine like this one.

Special Features

There are a couple of interesting features associated with a Book slot, but first let’s take a look at the Hyper Spins option that’s included. It’s a paid respin, with buttons placed underneath all reels. If you pay the price asked, you can respin an individual reel. It can be useful if you want to get a missing symbol, to complete a winning combination, but it costs more if the result can be highly profitable.

Otherwise, this is a Book-style slot, where the Book of Mrs Claus is the one used as both the wild and the scatter. You don’t get a lot of these on the reels, so as wilds they can help at times, but it’s not very likely to happen.

Whenever you manage to get 3, 4, or 5 of these Book symbols to appear, you will get a prize of up to 200x the stake, and 10 to 25 free spins.

For the free spins, the slot selects one of the regular symbols, and makes it special. This means that the symbol will now expand on its reel, and will form winning combinations on all lines when it is present on at least 3 random reels. The symbols don’t need to be next to each other on a line, to form combinations. The ideal situation is to have Mrs Claus as the special symbol, since that could lead to 10 winning combinations of 500x each, for a total of 5,000x the stake (top jackpot).

As I just mentioned above, the top jackpot in Book of Mrs Claus can reach 5,000x the stake. It’s the same amount that we’ve seen in a lot of other Book slots, so nothing unusual there.

Another thing that we’ve seen in such games, is high volatility, and once again we get that here as well.

What Book of Mrs Claus does better, is the fact that it delivers a higher RTP than most. 96.50% is a return that’s fairly rare these days.

Summary

If you enjoy a good Book-style slot, and you want one that works for the winter holidays as well, then I’d definitely recommend Book of Mrs Claus. While it doesn’t have anything unique feature wise, it comes with good prizes, and an above average RTP.
