Bag jewels and jokers in another new Batman slot
Batman is back, and Playtech is ensuring that their new DC/Warner Bros series gets double the exposure, with the launch of two new slot machine games at the same time.
Catwoman and Batman will go head to head in one of the games, but the other takes a more traditional route, following the tale of Batman and his arch-nemesis, The Joker.
There is no definitive release date pegged yet, but the Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels slot is certainly shaping up to be a treat.
This Batman video slot is based on the original television series, and this colourful and creative slot is going to bring a lot to the table. Many of the features are very similar to those we’ve seen in Playtech’s Marvel themed video slots, which will be cleared out over the coming months – not by Playtech’s choice, we might add.
We’ve seen a great deal of the new Batman and Joker: Joker Jewels video slot, and we’ve certainly been impressed by what we’ve seen. Some things are considerably better than others, though. Here’s what we love, and what we don’t like about this new online slot.
What we love
Relief is probably the most powerful emotion we have about the new slot. We’re over the moon that Batman is returning to the online slot world, especially after Microgaming was forced to pull its much-loved Dark Knight slot.
The new game will carry on the four, randomly triggered progressive jackpot tradition set by Playtech in their Marvel slots. The four progressives are being called Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand jackpots and will offer hundreds of thousands of pounds to players.
Two wild symbols will also appear in this new slot, so expect double trouble in that department. The two wilds will play an important role in offering players the chance to bag wins, especially in the free spins bonus.
Players will bag an unlimited number of spins, until a multiplier meter reaches “the end”. You can keep that from happening by landing wilds representing your character (either Batman, or The Joker).
What we do not like
To be honest, there isn’t too much not to like about this game. Of course, we loved the sheer number of features in Microgaming’s The Dark Knight slot.
This slot doesn’t have half as many bonuses as that game, but it is still very much in the same vein as Marvel’s progressive jackpot slots. Given that, it is a worthy successor to those titles. We’d have appreciated a few more bonuses, but those the slot does have will suffice.
Most players are going to get a kick out of playing a traditional Batman themed video slot. The question is, when can they play it? At this moment in time, we have no definitive date, although we have it on good authority that you will be able to place this game before the New Year.
The Marvel slots are expected to be removed by the turn of the year, so it would make sense that Playtech gives these games a good run before that eventuality happens.
