Ted Megaways Online Slot Machine – Free Play & Review

Branded slot machines have often been a way for developers to get the attention of players, using a proven story, which is being introduced in a new environment. TED is a movie that was launched in 2012, and since then it’s been made into a slot machine twice.

Now, Blueprint Gaming is releasing the story of the teddy bear Ted as a Megaways title, with bigger potential and excitement to be had.

The symbols you see in the game are going to be borrowed in several instances from the movie, and so you get images of Ted, a duck, a beautiful young woman, a six-pack of beer, but also more than a few less relevant Royals (9 to A, in different colors).

It’s no masterpiece visually, but then again that’s not something that you can say about most Blueprint titles.

Developer

Blueprint Gaming, the developer of Ted Megaways, is one of the companies that have used the Megaways license from Big Time Gaming.

I’d say that it’s one of the developers that have done better in that regard, their slots being some of the more interesting that I’ve seen in this category. It’s not a small developer though, being part of a huge German conglomerate, and so you might’ve seen some of their games already.

How To Play It

To play Ted Megaways, you need to pick the wager first. You have a minimum bet of $0.10, and a maximum one of $10.

It’s the usual Megaways system that we’re seeing here. With 6 reels, where 2 to 7 symbols will randomly be chosen to appear each round, there is the possibility to have up to 117,649 ways to win active in a single spin, but you can just as easily end up with as few as 324.

There is an extra row of symbols at the top, a horizontal reel which adds to the number of ways to win, to get you to that minimum of 324. Combinations will form with 3+ matching symbols, landing from left to right, on consecutive reels.

Special Features

As wins form in Ted Megaways, a cascading reels style mechanic will trigger, where winning symbols are removed, so that others may land and potentially form new combinations.

Ted Wilds are incorporated into the game, used as substitutes, but you will only find these on the horizontal reel from the top of the middle four columns. As such, it has a limited presence in this game, and it doesn’t pay anything on its own.

The game has a random feature, called Mystery Ted, which has the main character shooting at the reels and giving you mystery symbols. Several positions can be modified and turned into a single type of symbol, as a result.

Via 4+ scatters, you can trigger the slot’s free spins. As many as 12 free spins can be won, and a Thunder Wheel can spin to get you access into the feature. This can also give you a guaranteed number of Megaways for the upcoming free spins.

Cascading reels will boost the multiplier here, by 1x. New free spins can be obtained, 2 extra added for every 3 Ted symbols that you collect.

Maximum Payouts

The potential can be very high in such a game, even up to 50,000x payouts being mentioned. It’s a potential that is coupled with High volatility and a 96.03% RTP though, just the sort of thing that one expects to see in a game that pays such a large prize.

Summary

Ted Megaways is looking great, provided that you’re into high volatility slots, where the potential is high enough to warrant the extra risk. It helps if you’re a fan of the movie already, but the slot is good enough on its own.
