Another King Kong movie is set to hit the cinemas this year, so Pragmatic Play has been thoroughly on the ball with the launch date of their new King Kong themed slot – the Mighty Kong game.

This slot is played over 5 reels and an epic 50 lines, and it is considerably better than many other Kong themed slot games. Mighty Kong offers top-notch graphics, as well as a few decent features. Don’t misunderstand – Pragmatic Play haven’t gone over the top with the features in this slot – they are simple but very rewarding.

In the past, this developer may have had a bit of a bad name for payouts, RTP rates and so-so features. It is a credit to them that they have tried to alter that perception with the release of this top of the line slot. How to play

Mighty Kong offers up a delightful 5 reels and 50 paylines of gaming action. Whilst you are never going to be able to adjust the number of paylines you play with in this slot, you can most certainly alter the value of your coins, and the number of coins you bet.

Coin denominations stem from $0.01 up to $0.50, and you can bet up to 10 per line. Players can, therefore, expect to find minimum and maximum wagers which range from $0.50 per spin, up to $250.00 per spin on this slot machine game. That’s a standard wagering range, all things considered.

Features

Wild symbols: Wild symbols are effective and help you quite considerably to bag wins. They may not look the best in terms of graphics (dull blue squares with “wild” written on them), but they can expand to occupy the whole third reel when they appear on it and they can substitute for all other symbols save for scatters.

Scatter icons: Players will find that the scatter icons in this game are represented by King Kong. The giant ape can trigger a free spins bonus when 3 or more these symbols appear in any positions on the screen during a single spin.

Free spins bonus: There are four free spin features for you to choose from in this game. Players can opt to play with 40 free spins and 1x multiplier, 13 free spins with a 3x multiplier, 8 free spins with a 5x multiplier, or a simple 5 free games with a massive 8x multiplier.

Which options you go for is entirely up to you. Personally, we found the 13 and 8 free spin options to be the most prosperous. You can win additional free games by landing more scatters on the reels, too.

Maximum pay-outs

The most any player can expect to win in this game is 1,000 coins. That is a non-progressive prize which is paid out for landing 5 of the girl symbols on any active line.

Landing 5 of the man symbols on a payline will only see you win 500 coins, which is the half the sum you can win with the non-progressive jackpot.

Summary

It may not have the features of Playtech’s Kong: Eighth Wonder of the World Slot, but it is miles better than Cryptologic and NextGen Gaming’s efforts on the same theme.

This a slot which deserves the title of “mighty”, but it is still not quite big enough to knock the number one, officially licensed Kong slot off the top spot. Good effort, though.
